Wellington is home to world-class screen and digital industry talent and technology. Our aim is to double the revenue of the industry between 2010 and 2020 and to make Wellington globally recognised as a centre of excellence in the screen and digital sector.
We work directly with businesses by initiating or contributing to projects that: connect our industry to global suppliers, customers and partners; help firms attract and retain talent; assist in project or corporate financing initiatives; provide infrastructure and co working facilities; and enhance our region’s educational offering. Our involvement drives additional opportunities to creative businesses, creates jobs, enhances profitability and pushes technical and creative innovation.
Some examples of Grow Wellington’s involvement in the sector include our contribution to industry event, AnimFX NZ, and to the BizDojo - a fully serviced co-working space for Wellington entrepreneurs in the screen and digital, creative and high-tech industries. Internationally, co-working has emerged as an exciting way for work-at-home professionals, independent contractors, start-ups and project teams to experience the synergy that can happen from working with talented people in the same space.
