ESG Energy, a resident business housed at the Clean Technology Centre in Otaki, has developed a mini, multipurpose power station using only renewable energy sources.
Being only the size of a small shipping container, with solar panels and a wind turbine sprouting from the roof, this pod can be transferred easily by helicopter and placed at any location.
You can see the pod, which is temporarily down at Wellington's waterfront alongside the fan zone this week.
