The 2011 Bright Ideas Challenge Comes to an End

01 Nov 2011

The Bright Ideas Challenge 2011 finale is upon us. The Bright Ideas Gala event taking place Wednesday 2 November is a celebration for region’s hottest emerging entrepreneurs - from artificially intelligent digital and robotic characters to a product which could save 0.5% of global carbon emissions.

These budding entrepreneurs who have worked hard over the past 6 months to progress their ideas are nothing short of awe inspiring. The evening will provide a great opportunity for those involved in the Challenge to celebrate their accomplishments and for others to meet Wellington’s brightest sparks.

There will be awards given out to standouts in different categories and of course the $25,000 growth capital which will be awarded to the brightest idea.
The Bright Ideas Challenge 2011 is an initiative by Grow Wellington to encourage young, bright entrepreneurs to share their business idea in 100 words or less. Only in its second year, the Bright Ideas Challenge has attracted an outstanding 925 submissions from entrepreneurs around the Wellington region. 300 submissions went on to the business planning stage with 29 ideas making it through to the pitcher network evening where they have the opportunity to pitch their idea in 3 minutes to a group of potential investors and others from the innovation community.
The Bright Ideas Challenge is a great showcase of the entrepreneurial talent that lies in the Wellington Region. This is a region full of amazing people with the ideas, innovation and skills to take their ideas to the next level and Bright Ideas is successful platform to helping this happen.
